Since 1994, the Village of Lyons has operated according to the Village Manager form of municipal government. In this form of municipal organization, the Village Manager is appointed by the Village President and Board of Trustees and serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the Village. The Village Manager has the authority to hire and fire all personnel and is responsible for implementing the goals and policies that are established by the Village President and Board of Trustees. The Village Manager is responsible for ensuring the day-to-day operations of Village Departments are running efficiently and effectively.
