The Village of Lyons Board of Trustees have set July 10, 2017 as the date for the tear-down of the former village Fire House at 4043 S.Joliet Ave.
The abandoned Fire House will be replaced with a parking area serving the Lyons Fire Department and Emergency response personnel.
Mayor Christopher Getty said the tear-down date was selected for after the 4th of July so as not to interfere with the 4th ofJuly Parade which ends near the one story red bricked old fire house building which has been used as storage during the past decade.
